As a High School ELA Regents Teacher’s Assistant at the International School for Liberal Arts, you’ll play a vital role in preparing students — including ESL learners — for Regents success. You’ll provide classroom push-in support across multiple English classrooms while also working closely with 14 specific ESL students using a Regents-focused study package designed to strengthen skills and build confidence ahead of the January exam.

What You'll Do

As a Simply Ed High School ELA Regents Teacher’s Assistant, you will:

Support high school ELA teachers with Regents-focused classroom activities.
Provide one-on-one and small group academic support, with special focus on ESL students.
Use the Regents study package to deliver targeted practice and review.
Help manage classroom routines and foster an inclusive, safe learning environment.
Monitor student progress and provide updates to classroom teachers.
Assist with grading, organizing resources, and preparing Regents study materials.
Collaborate with educators and staff to align student support with classroom instruction.
Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking individuals who are:

Passionate about helping high school students succeed in English and on Regents exams.

Strong communicators and collaborative team players.
Experienced with tutoring or supporting high school students (experience with ESL learners is a plus).
Currently pursuing or holding a bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field.
Able to adapt to different learning environments and student needs.
Cleared (or eligible for clearance) through DOE PETS background check and fingerprinting.
Fluent in English; Spanish or other additional languages are a plus.
