Schedule: Tuesday–Thursday | 1:15 PM – 5:15 PM

This role includes one period of push-in classroom support, followed by after-school small group instruction beginning at 2:20 PM, using Simply Ed’s ELA test readiness materials.

What You’ll Do

As a Simply Ed After-School ELA Teacher's Assistant, you will:

  • Provide push-in classroom support during one instructional period.
  • Lead after-school small groups using Simply Ed’s structured ELA test readiness curriculum (beginning at 2:20 PM).
  • Offer one-on-one and small group reading and writing support to students.
  • Reinforce literacy skills, vocabulary development, and comprehension strategies.
  • Help manage classroom routines and foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
  • Assist with organizing materials and preparing instructional resources.
  • Monitor student progress and share observations with teachers and staff.
  • Collaborate with educators to meet student needs.
  • Attend required training sessions and staff meetings.
     

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking individuals who are:

  • Passionate about supporting middle school students’ literacy growth.
  • Reliable, professional, and committed to showing up every day.
  • Strong communicators and collaborative team players.
  • Experienced with children (formally or informally) — school experience preferred, but training is provided.
  • Currently pursuing or holding a bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field.
  • Able to adapt to different learning environments and student needs.
  • Cleared (or eligible for clearance) through DOE PETS background check and fingerprinting.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
