This role centers on helping Grade 8 students strengthen analytical reading, text evidence usage, structured writing responses, and exam strategy skills to prepare confidently for the ELA Regents.

What You’ll Do

As a Simply Ed Middle School ELA Teacher’s Assistant & Regents Tutor, you will:

Lead small group Regents preparation sessions.
Implement structured Regents test readiness materials and strategies.
Support students in analytical reading and evidence-based writing.
Reinforce vocabulary, comprehension, and exam response structure.
Track student progress and adjust instruction to meet learning needs.
Foster a focused, supportive, and accountable small group learning environment.
Attend required training sessions and staff meetings.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking individuals who are:

Passionate about supporting middle school students’ literacy and exam readiness.
Confident leading small group instruction and Regents preparation.
Reliable, professional, and committed to showing up consistently.
Strong communicators and collaborative team players.
Experienced with children (formally or informally) — school experience preferred, but training is provided.
Currently pursuing or holding a bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field.
Able to adapt to different learning environments and student needs.
Cleared (or eligible for clearance) through DOE PETS background check and fingerprinting.
Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
