Schedule: Wednesday–Thursday | 1:30 PM – 5:00 PM

This role centers on helping Grade 8 students strengthen analytical reading, text evidence usage, structured writing responses, and exam strategy skills to prepare confidently for the ELA Regents.

What You’ll Do

As a Simply Ed Middle School ELA Teacher’s Assistant & Regents Tutor, you will:

  • Lead small group Regents preparation sessions.
  • Implement structured Regents test readiness materials and strategies.
  • Support students in analytical reading and evidence-based writing.
  • Reinforce vocabulary, comprehension, and exam response structure.
  • Track student progress and adjust instruction to meet learning needs.
  • Foster a focused, supportive, and accountable small group learning environment.
  • Attend required training sessions and staff meetings.
     

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking individuals who are:

  • Passionate about supporting middle school students’ literacy and exam readiness.
  • Confident leading small group instruction and Regents preparation.
  • Reliable, professional, and committed to showing up consistently.
  • Strong communicators and collaborative team players.
  • Experienced with children (formally or informally) — school experience preferred, but training is provided.
  • Currently pursuing or holding a bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field.
  • Able to adapt to different learning environments and student needs.
  • Cleared (or eligible for clearance) through DOE PETS background check and fingerprinting.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
